The Frejus railway partially reopened while the Rola remains at a standstill

15 Aprile 2025 - The Ziegler Group has announced the launch of a new express rail freight service between China and Europe, with direct arrival at its logistics hub in Welkenraedt, Belgium. The journey takes between 17 and 18 days.

15 Aprile 2025 - Medlog, a subsidiary of Msc, has announced the launch of a refrigerated container rail link between the port of Gioia Tauro and the inland terminal of Verona, with weekly frequency.

Attack on the headquarters of Greek railway company Hellenic Train
14 Aprile 2025 - On 11 April 2025, a bomb exploded outside the headquarters of the Greek railway company Hellenic Train in Athens. The company is controlled by Trenitalia and one of its trains was involved in a serious accident on 28 February 2023, which resulted in the deaths of 57 people.

7 Aprile 2025 - Hamburg-based terminal operator Hhla and the Fraunhofer CML have trialled a robot capable of locking and unlocking the pins on rail wagons used to transport containers.
