On June 26, 2024, real estate developer P3 announced that Fiege Logistics has begun operations at its new Logistics Hub in Altedo, located in the province of Bologna. The facility spans 38,000 square meters and is strategically positioned near the A13 highway, the Bologna interport, and the airport. Fiege manages logistics for Action, a Dutch retail chain that is expanding in Italy.
P3 developed this platform on a previously degraded industrial site. Among the solutions for environmental sustainability are photovoltaic panels and water systems that use recycled rainwater. The facility also features electric vehicle charging stations. Accessibility is enhanced by a bike path, bike-sharing availability, and a bus line connecting to the San Pietro in Casale train station. Additionally, there is a high CO2 absorption urban reforestation program. These elements have enabled the facility to achieve Breeam Excellent certification.
The opening of the Altedo logistics hub is expected to create over 150 jobs, including both workers and office staff. P3 plans further expansions at the site, with the development of two new warehouses, totaling 60,000 square meters available for lease. "Entering a strategically significant area like Bologna marks an important step forward in the expansion of our business," explains Alberto Birolini, Managing Director of Fiege Logistics Italia.
