On 13 December 2024, the truck rest area at Malpensa Cargo City was officially inaugurated. Spanning an impressive 60,000 square metres, the newly opened facility includes 154 parking bays for industrial vehicles. An 800-square-metre building within the area provides amenities tailored to drivers, such as restrooms, showers, a refreshment area, and spaces for relaxation. The site ensures security through continuous surveillance of both vehicle entry and parking. The grounds are illuminated by energy-efficient LED lights. Additionally, nine parking bays are equipped with electric charging stations, allowing refrigerated trucks to operate without running their onboard engines. This project is part of the European Pass4Core programme.
