Air Canada Cargo strengthens its summer network
Air Canada Cargo has announced a capacity boost for the summer season, introducing new widebody routes to Singapore, Manila, Porto and Prague. Connections to Osaka, Seoul and Madrid will also be increased. At the same time, the network of dedicated freighters will be expanded to offer broader coverage of major cities across the Americas. The aim is to ensure consistent capacity in response to global logistics demands.
DKV Mobility expands its presence in Spain
DKV Mobility has signed a deal with the Disa Group, licensee of the Shell brand in Spain, allowing customers to use the DKV Card at over 320 Shell stations across the Iberian peninsula. This move brings DKV Mobility’s acceptance network in Spain to around 6,000 fuelling points. The agreement also includes 50 Shell stations managed by independent licensees, with further additions planned. The service stations offer both conventional and alternative fuels, along with extra services such as car washes.
Arquus and Daimler Truck partner on military vehicles
Arquus of France and Daimler Truck of Germany are launching a strategic partnership to jointly develop, produce, sell and service wheeled military vehicles. The agreement is designed to better address defence sector needs, with a particular focus on modernising the French Army’s logistics fleet. Production will remain at the respective sites: Arquus in Garchizy and Limoges, Daimler Truck in Wörth am Rhein and Molsheim, Alsace. The collaboration aims to reinforce industrial facilities in both countries.
Alsendo acquires digital logistics firm Esite
Esite, the Italian digital logistics company known for its Spedire.com and SpedirePro brands, has been fully acquired by Polish group Alsendo for €5.5 million. This marks Alsendo’s first strategic expansion into Western Europe. Founded in 2011, Esite is a pioneer in Italian tech logistics and operates entirely remotely. In 2024, the company handled over 400,000 shipments, working with UPS, FedEx, Poste Italiane and InPost. With this acquisition, Esite will be able to strengthen its presence in Italy and expand into new European markets, enhancing its offering for both business and e-commerce clients.
HHLA approves dividend and celebrates double-digit growth
The general meeting of Hamburger Hafen und Logistik approved all items on the agenda, including the distribution of a dividend of €0.10 per class A share. CEO Angela Titzrath reviewed the company’s performance in 2024, a year in which HHLA consolidated its position as a leading European logistics provider despite economic and geopolitical headwinds. Group revenue rose by 10.5% to €1,598.3 million, while operating profit (EBIT) increased by 22.7% to €134.3 million.
P&O Maritime acquires Nova Algoma Cement Carriers
An agreement signed in Dubai marks the entry of P&O Maritime Logistics, a DP World subsidiary, into Nova Algoma Cement Carriers through the acquisition of a 51% stake. NACC, the world’s leading cement shipping company, was created by a joint venture between Nova Marine Holding (owned by the Romeo and Gozzi families) and Canadian group Algoma Central. The deal does not include NACC’s joint ventures with partners in Norway, Indonesia and Greece. The company's management team will remain in Lugano, while the holding will be based in Dubai. The agreement, pending approval from relevant authorities, aims to strengthen NACC’s 25-vessel cement carrier fleet in key international markets.
