Msc Technology Italia, a company within the Msc shipping group, announced on 12 May 2026 the launch of a recruitment plan for 200 experienced information technology professionals. The campaign concerns its Lingotto site in Turin and forms part of the expansion of Msc Cargo’s technology division, which develops software solutions and digital infrastructure to support the company’s global logistics and maritime transport operations. The move will bring the total number of employees at the Turin hub to more than 900.
The programme is aimed mainly at candidates with mid-level and senior experience who are interested in a stable career path within a structured organisation. The company links the plan to a medium- to long-term strategy intended to consolidate technical expertise in Turin in the management of information systems, cybersecurity and the operational platforms used by the company. According to a company statement, the recruitment campaign also includes unsolicited applications and covers roles such as software developers, software engineers and architects, testers, business data analysis specialists and network operations centre engineers. The new recruits will join the various divisions active at the Turin site and will work on the development, control and evolution of the technology platforms used in the group’s operations.
The selection process will be extended nationwide. For candidates from other regions, Msc Technology Italia is offering a package of measures to support relocation to Turin. The main measures include a contribution towards moving costs, support in finding accommodation and a professional development path with defined career progression. These measures are linked to a minimum commitment to remain with the company for 39 months. The strengthening of the Lingotto hub follows the path launched in 2020 and continued with the expansion and refurbishment of the offices, which was completed in 2025. The facility now has a total surface area of 11,000 square metres, dedicated to the development of software for integrated logistics, network management and cybersecurity.
The plan confirms the growing role of digital technologies in integrated logistics and maritime transport. For a global operator, the management of information flows, platform reliability and network security are factors linked to operational continuity, process traceability and the ability to coordinate activities distributed internationally. In this context, the Turin site acts as a technical support hub for the companies within the Msc Cargo perimeter.
Roberto Musumeci, chief executive of Msc Technology Italia, said the plan is intended to strengthen the Turin technology hub and make it a European reference point for innovation applied to logistics. Musumeci also linked the initiative to collaboration with the local academic system, identifying relations with universities as a way to combine established expertise with new professional skills. In particular, collaborations are already under way with Politecnico di Torino (Polytechnic University of Turin) and Università di Torino (University of Turin). The aim is to build a balance between specialised staff and profiles in training, in order to support the organisational needs linked to the networks, management software and cybersecurity of the companies within the Msc Cargo perimeter.
