The International Road Transport Union (IRU) announced on September 25, 2024, the inauguration of the Henan TIR Logistics Hub in Zhengzhou, marking the third of its kind in China. This logistics hub offers essential services for the smooth transit of industrial vehicles. Similar to the existing hubs in Kashgar and Urumqi, both located in the western part of the country, the Zhengzhou hub provides a “one-stop-shop” solution for transport companies, customs brokers, and various supply chain actors. Services at the hub include customs clearance, warehousing, cargo handling, route development, and integrated transport capacities, all aimed at facilitating cross-border movements towards Asian and European countries.
The new facility covers 16,000 square meters for container storage and vehicle parking, alongside 6,000 square meters dedicated to merchandise storage. The hub is managed by Zhengzhou Tuopu Urban Management Service, which oversees daily operations. "I am pleased to witness another significant milestone for Zhengzhou,” said Tatiana Rey-Bellet, Director of TIR and Transport at IRU. “The Henan TIR Logistics Hub will create significant opportunities for collaboration between all parties, improving supply chain efficiency and facilitating smooth cross-border movements towards Asia and Europe."
