The Port Authority of the Eastern Ligurian Sea has launched a call aimed at concession holders and terminal operators active in the ports of La Spezia and Marina di Carrara to encourage initiatives promoting environmental sustainability. This effort, part of the GreenPorts programme, seeks to support the acquisition of new electric or hydrogen-powered service vehicles, as well as the conversion of existing ones to cleaner technologies. This initiative complements and enhances the broader GreenPorts plan of infrastructural and innovation projects focused on environmental sustainability and energy efficiency, which our Port Authority has been pursuing for some time, also thanks to the receipt of EU funding,” explained the Authority's commissioner, Federica Montaresi. Eligible beneficiaries of the grants include those holding valid concessions or equivalent titles operating within the port areas under the Authority’s jurisdiction.
Eligible interventions include the purchase of electric or hydrogen-powered vehicles for the handling of goods and/or waste, the acquisition of shuttles for the collective transport of people within port areas, and the conversion of existing vehicles into electric or hydrogen-powered ones, with the requirement to scrap the replaced vehicles. One of the most attractive features of the call is the possibility of securing non-repayable grants covering up to 100% of eligible costs, with a maximum limit of €300,000 per company over a three-year period. However, these grants cannot be combined with other EU funding sources, ensuring clear transparency in resource management.
Applications for the call must be submitted by 12:00 p.m. on 31 January 2025, while any requests for clarification can be sent until 12:00 p.m. on 17 January 2025. The Port Authority of the Eastern Ligurian Sea encourages interested parties to consult the full details of the call to ensure compliance with all requirements and participation procedures.
